Our attorneys, W. Thomas Rutledge, Jr. Esq., and Campbell D. Coxe, Jr. Esq., have spent their entire legal careers handling estate and trust matters. They have over 50 years of experience practicing in these specialized areas of law and bring with them not only their professional knowledge, but their own personal experiences. Our firm’s paralegal and office administrator have worked in Probate and Trust Administration for nearly a decade and provide the highest quality of skill and service. Outside of the office, we work closely with our clients’ CPAs and Financial Advisors to ensure the estate plan works with the client’s goals.
SENIOR COUNSEL
W. THOMAS RUTLEDGE, JR.
Tom Rutledge brings extensive trusts and estates experience, having worked with the Trust Department of Wachovia Bank, N.A. (and its predecessors) for 26 years prior to entering private practice. He served as Senior Vice President and Trust Officer for the bank’s South Carolina Coastal Region, which includes Charleston, Hilton Head and Myrtle Beach. After leaving the Bank he practiced Estate Planning for 16 years at Haynsworth, Sinkler & Boyd and later at Moore & Van Allen before starting Rutledge Law Firm in 2011.

Campbell D. Coxe, Esq.
Campbell Coxe is from Darlington, South Carolina, and currently lives in Charleston with his wife Marah and son Thatcher. He attended Wofford College where he double majored in Biology and Environmental Science. Mr. Coxe received his Juris Doctorate from the University of South Carolina School of Law. His legal career has been entirely focused on Estate Planning and Asset Protection. Campbell works with his clients to craft customized estate plans that meet their individual and family needs, and also helps their loved ones execute those plans after a client passes away. He has served as a Personal Representative, Power of Attorney, Conservator, and Trustee for his clients. In his free time, he enjoys hunting, fishing, falconry, and spending time with his family.
